Everything for a lesson (the call, chat, materials, and AI notes) lives on one screen.
Click “Open lesson” on its row; the next lesson has a “Join” button instead, which opens the same screen. From a student's page, their next lesson has “Join” on the day and past ones a quiet “Open”.
Later lessons show “Scheduled” on the student's page and open from Schedule or Today.
The button in the video panel reads “Join the call”, or “Rejoin the call” once you've been in. It opens video right there and makes the lesson chat and AI notes work. For the built-in call there's nothing to send — Join appears on their portal 15 minutes before the start.
“Lesson chat” is saved with the lesson for good, so it's the place for links and vocabulary. Attached materials open in a new tab without dropping the call, and “+ Attach materials” adds more. “⧉ Pop out the video” gives the call its own window; “⇤ Bring it back here” returns it.
During the lesson, “Call not working?” under “⋯ More” on the lesson screen (or the button under a join error) moves just this lesson to your own outside link. That lesson gets no AI notes, and the same place takes you back to the built-in call.
It's offered only from an hour before the start until the call window closes.
With AI notes on and both of you on “Record my lessons”, transcription starts when you join, the AI panel says “Transcribing”, and your student sees an indicator. Audio is AI-processed and the transcript is stored with the lesson, readable by you and your student. Keep health, financial and ID details out of what's said. A recap, key points and suggested focus areas appear after the call. The draft is private for now. It goes to your student usually about 20 minutes after the call ends unless you write your own or uncheck it. You can change it later. The full transcript is under “Full transcript of this call” once it's ready.
One switch controls all of it: AI assistance in Settings. When it's off, these panels don't appear at all.
